Landsskuet - The National Show in Herning, Denmark
North Europe’s biggest agricultural show
Landsskuet 2009 - the Danish National Show - in Herning was back full scale after last years set back due to bluetounge restrictions. 2410 of the finest Danish production animals was on show, when the National Show toke place from July 2nd to 4th.
728 dairy cows and 491 pieces of beef cattle toke part in the cattle show on international level. The piebold Holstein cattle hat the largest increase in numbers, while the Jersey cattle set their own record by having 191 registered animals on show.
On a whole the meat cattle was also well represented. However the soft-coloured French breeds dominate this year’s show. The breeding societies of Blonde d’Aquitaine and Charolais celebrate respectively their 25th and 50th anniversaries in Denmark and hat put extra efforts into making their participation in Herning festive and numerous; together the two breeds account for nearly half the number of beef cattle at Landskuet – The National Show
The large turn-out once again marks Landsskuet – The National Show as the professional as well as social meeting-point for Danish animal husbandry.
Landsskuet 2010 in Herning takes place from July 1td to 3th.
